2 Hour Yeast Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • ⅓ c. sugar
  • ½ c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 ½ c. - 4 c. flour
  • ¼ c. butter

Directions

Sprinkle 2 packages yeast and 1 T. sugar into a bowl containing ½ c. water. Set aside and let bubble. Scald milk and butter. In a large bowl, mix ⅓ c. sugar, salt, eggs, hot milk mixture, and yeast mixture. Add enough flour to make a sticky dough. Let rise for one hour. Roll out and shape as desired. Bake at 350° for about 12-15 minutes.
