Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs. yeast
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ¼ c. warm water
  • 4 ½ c. flour
  • ½ tsp. sugar
  • 1 cup hot water (tap)
  • ½ c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • ½ c. shortening or butter

Directions

Put 2 packages yeast in ¼ c. warm water along with ½ tsp. of sugar and set aside. Mix eggs, sugar, butter, salt, hot water, and eggs. Then mix in flour. Let stand until double in bulk. Cover and put in fridge. Remove 3 ½ hours before dinner time. Roll out flat and spread with melted butter. Cut into triangles and roll from wide end to point. Bake for 8 minutes at 425°. Makes approx 3 dozen.
