Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 t. nutmeg
1 c. shortening
2 t. cinnamon
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 c. applesauce
2 c. raisins or chocolate chips
2 t. soda
2 c. quick oats
3 ½ c. flour

Directions

Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg; mix. Stir soda into applesauce and add alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Mix well. Add raisins and oats, and mix. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheets and bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 80 cookies.
