Frosted Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1½ c. powdered sugar
- 2½ c. flour
- 1 c. softened butter
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. almond flavoring
Directions
(Good to double). Cream butter and sugar, add egg, vanilla, and almond; mix. Add dry ingredients; mix. Refrigerate 1 hour plus or overnight. Roll ⅛ inch thick, cut shapes, bake at 375° for 7-8 minutes.
Frosting
Ingredients
- ¼ c. softened butter
- 4 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- ⅓-½ c. milk or cream
- ¼ tsp. salt
- food coloring
Directions
Blend all, add desired amount of food coloring. Let cookies cool then frost.
