Hot Fudge Cake

Ingredients

  • 1¼ c. granulated sugar, divided
  • ½ c. milk
  • 1 c. all purpose flour
  • ⅓ c. butter or margarine, melted
  • ½ c. Hershey's cocoa, divided
  • 1½ tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ c. light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 c. hot water

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine ¾ c. sugar, ¼ c. cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Pour into ungreased 9" square pan. Stir together ½ c. sugar, brown sugar, ¼ c. cocoa. Sprinkle this mixture on top. Pour hot water over top. DO NOT STIR. Bake 35-40 minutes or until center is almost set. Let stand 15 minutes. Serve with ice cream.
