Mandarin Orange Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 lrg. or 2 small angel food cakes
  • ½ pint whipping cream
  • 1 ½ pkgs. Unflavored gelatin
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 small can mandarin oranges
  • 1 small can frozen orange juice

Directions

Take one large or 2 small angel food cakes and crumb up in bite size pieces; set aside. Dissolve gelatin in a few drops of cold water. Add boiling water, orange juice, and sugar. Place a layer of cake with a few mandarin oranges in buttered tube pan, repeat until cake and almost all the oranges are gone. Pour gelatin mixture over the cake and chill in fridge over night. Turn out on dish and frost with ½ pint whipped whipping cream. Garnish with a few remaining oranges.
